RADARSAT-2 EVALUATION FOR WETLAND CLASSIFICATION IN THE PRAIRIE POTHOLE REGION This project used CV-580 data acquired over the Minnedosa Pothole Region of Manitoba along with simultaneously acquired ground truth and supporting ancillary data to evaluate the potential for wetland classification.
The classes of interest included deep and shallow marsh as well as the open water and upland cover types. These land cover types are of particular interest to both the Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) for waterfowl management purposes as well as to the Canadian Wetland Inventory (CWI).
